Even though I'm many years older I still think of Joe (I always called him Gene) I still think of him. He had a dream of going into the Air Force but that dream was shattered when he found out he had a physical problem that, at the very last minute, kept him from realizing his dream. His life moved on and he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. I was pleasantly surprised to hear that that had occured while I was overseas. We both ending up renewing our friendship after I fininished my tour of duty in the Air Force. One sad day (I cannot remember the date) I was called with the message that he had died in a car accident. I still think of that friendly dreamer of better things in his life. Although I've lost contact with his family I know I'll see him in Heaven. I miss you Gene!
