I remember Bucky from 5th/6th grade at Crestview.  He lived just across the side driveway from the school.  Some days I'd stay after school and we'd get  a snack at his house.  Sometimes we'd knock around in the woods at the end of the playground.  He always seemed to have a smile.  I think his dad was a writer/editor for the KC Times/Star.

Bill Cecil and I used to pal around with Bucky a bit while we were in high school.  He was fun to be with.  Dave Love is correct in that his dad worked for the KCStar but for some reason I thought he was an artist for them.

I finally got around to writing my profile and noted Bucky was my roommate at MU in Columbia, MO. I gave a brief explanation about his death at the beginning. He was a good friend and for a person to be as smart as he was, one would never know he was a genious. His dad was a writer and had his own column in the K.C. Star.

Bucky was really a great guy to be around.  Got to know him pretty well in our senior year.  He was amazingly smart but had this great self-deprecating humor.
